Committees
Annual Golf Tournament Committee
This Committee is responsible for organizing our Annual Golf Tournament—an event that serves multiple important purposes for our chapter:
- Networking Opportunity: Connect insurance professionals (and their clients) in a relaxed, enjoyable setting
- Fundraising Impact: Generate funds that support additional educational opportunities for insurance professionals (members and non-members), empower the initiatives of our Good Works Committee, and raise funds for a local charity through a fun Raffle drawing.
- Community Building: Contribute to an event that brings our chapter together while making a difference
No golf experience required! You don't need to be a golfer to make a valuable contribution to this committee. We need organizers, coordinators, and enthusiastic volunteers to help make this tournament a success.

Diversity and Inclusion
This committee is dedicated to enhancing one of our core values of Diversity and Inclusion under our National CPCU Strategic Plan. A significant objective is assisting the industry in attracting a stream of diverse new talent. Our National CPCU Society encourages chapters to offer at least one program a year to explore and promote diversity, by putting together programs to understand other people, ideas, and opportunities, and to attract diverse new talent. This committee works tirelessly to meet that goal!
Also, under the Diversity committee, we house our Candidate Development committee. This committee is dedicated to encouraging those who are currently studying for their CPCU - and also those who may want to begin their CPCU journey, but need encouragement and direction. Outreach is key here, where a wide range of activities take place - from meeting with Young Professional Groups to partnering with colleges, universities and high schools to engage the next generation of insurance professionals.

The Good Works Committee is a team of people who focus on promoting member engagement and initiatives that directly benefit the CPCU Society and insurance industry, with a focus on volunteering to benefit local charities. Membership
This Committee "tends our sheep" - that is, they reach out to members to keep them current on what is happening in our Chapter and helps members who have questions on renewing their membership. This committee is also dedicated to outreach and mentoring of our New Designees. We want to assure that each New Designee feels welcome to jump into Chapter activities beginning with our New Designee Reception as well as the Connecticut Annual Conferment Dinner honoring our New Designees.
